Christmas Day was both enjoyable and also quite stressful. We started off the day with my daughter Kari and her live-in Brandon coming for breakfast and to open presents. It was a really nice time and hubby made a great breakfast of French Toast, bacon, hashbrowns and cranberry juice. My 2 boys called to wish us Merry Christmas and after Kari and Brandon left we cleaned up the mess and watched a couple of Christmas movies.
Later in the afternoon hubby and I went to the hospital to pick-up my Dad for Christmas dinner at my brothers. This was very difficult. My Dad is 90 years old and for the first time in his life he has found himself totally dependant on others. We took him out in the wheelchair with the help of the hospital porter to transfer him into my jeep. Dad did not want to go. He had to be lifted out of the chair and manuvered into the jeep and I could tell he was very stressed about it.
We did have a very nice family dinner at Brad's and then took Dad back to the hospital. He said he doesn't ever want to go through that again. It is so very hard to see him having to depend on others for all of his needs.
On Boxing Day I went to spend my gift certificate on some clothing that was on sale. I did really well and came away with 6 tops, a sweater, pair of pj's and some underwear all for $100.
Since then I have been busy organizing the rec room with the computer and my sewing room which are both downstairs.
Hubby goes back to work tomorrow. (yeah) Love him dearly but love my quiet time alone in the house too. Margaret and I will be heading out early to cross the border and go shopping at Joann's.
