Bright and early yesterday morning ( 7:15) I drove to Carol's house, jumped in her van and we headed over to pick up Leslie. We got there 15 minutes too early and Leslie was still in her jammies.
Five minutes later, we were on our way to the U.S. border crossing. We were loaded with passports, Joann's coupons and our wallets. We hit the Walmart, Joann's, Two Thimbles ( a great new quilt shop), Fabric Etc. and then had to stop for lunch at Applebee's. We were then rejuvenated and headed out again to Tangled Threads and then back to the border.
We spent about $400 between the 3 of us and the guy at the border said "have a good day" Yippee, no tax or duty to pay! ***Leslie spent the most and then Carol and then I.***
Back in Canada, we headed to the Janome store out in Abbotsford called Toews. If you sign up with them online, they send you a notice about every 3-4 weeks to drop in and pick up a gift so - we were seeking free gifts. As it was now almost 5pm we headed for home. First to drop Leslie off and then back to Carol's. I then had to warm up my big truck and then I was on my way home. What a great day! We shopped, we laughed, we ate and we shopped some more.
I bought assorted fabrics including cats, batiks, some co-ordinating blues, Laurel Burch and some great patterns that were on sale for $2-$3 each.
I took 2 T'3's and spent 3 hours in my recliner with my "best friend" the electric heating pad.
Today I plan on spending some quiet time in my sewing room do some organizing and drooling over my new purchases.
