How I hate hospital red tape.

This morning I headed out early with hubby to get some groceries and pick up a couple of prescriptions. We were back home be 11 and then I spent most of the next few hours on
the phone.

Yesterday, I rec'd a call that they decided to move my Dad today from the hospital where he has been for 2 months, to a facility across the street which is kind of a holding facility while waiting for a permanent move to a long term care facility. They moved him this morning
and around 1pm I called the temp. facility to check that the move went smoothly.
I was then informed that he was being moved again to his permanent facility. I got a little
upset with this and they had someone else call me back.

When they asked what was upsetting me I calmly explained that when they moved him
from one room to another in the hospital on the same floor, he had a rough time with it
and was down for a few days. Now they have moved him to a totally new facility with
all new nurses etc. which I'm sure will be a big difficult adjustment for him and then they
are going to do it again in 3 days. He is 90 years old, needs assistance to get out of bed
etc. suffers from parkinson's disease and they don't understand why I'm upset. Until
2 months ago he lived on his own and other than receiving meals on wheels, he pretty
much looked after himself. They told me that when beds become available, they have
to move them. It's policy. ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Anyway, now that I've vented I can move on. I watched my Vancouver Canucks lose
for the 2nd consecutive night and it ticks me off. Come on guys, get it together.
Well, I'm tired and gonna hit the hay. Night.
