Since the Creative Stitches show last month I have been to my Langley Machine Embroidery Group (LMEG) and then spent 2 weeks down at the RV. It was our first RV trip since last fall so there was lots of cleaning and re-stocking for the upcoming summer season.
At the last LMEG meeting we focused on the differences between light and dark threads and how they will either "pop" or "blend" depending on the contrast of thread to fabric and also because of the pattern of the stitches. I decided to use both black and white backgrounds while using dark, light and varigated threads. Here is a picture of a few of my stitch-outs. It might be difficult to tell that the background stitches on all the blocks are done with the varigated threads. I do have a plan on how I'm going to use them but - I can't share that idea yet so stay tuned.
