This morning I finished putting together the 12 background blocks for the 2013 BOM called Pixie Garden. I had already made one of each of the alternating blocks so I could start the hand applique for Block #1 which is a Blue Bird and a Flower. Instead of doing really small circles for the bird's eye and the flower centre - I chose to use embroidery thread and just put in a few stitches. I think it turned out pretty good.
The alternating blocks are the same off-white background surrounded by a nice pink fabric.
